Chapter 3

This chapter outlines the components and aspects of different subject areas within the curriculum but its purpose in doing so is to emphasize the interdisciplinary nature of early childhood education. Process skills are an integral part of an EC program that underlie what we teach, regardless of the context.

Chapter 1: How children develop and learn.

So, how do children develop and learn? Knowing that crucial 'how' is critical to "planning your program, selecting materials and guiding children's learning." (p.49) After reading this chapter, what are your top 3 takeaways that will affect your learning space and teaching practice?
